Our Mission:
To honor our daughter Zoey, by providing support to those in their darkest times, reciprocating the kindness that surrounded us during our time of need & striving to keep her legacy alive through acts of kindness and love.
Our Story
Our story is our own, but we want to focus on what Zoey taught us during her time here and how we will continue her legacy. Zoey was a happy, determined little girl, and had a deep love for The Lion King. After watching the movie an embarrassing amount of times with Zoey, we often think back to a quote by Rafiki to Simba: "Oh yes, the past can hurt. But from the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it." We've taken that advice to grow from our experience instead of allowing the painful moments of the past to define us.
After the unexpected loss of our daughter, Zoey, we continue to learn how to navigate our new life living in grief. Learning that the immense pain would never go away, and it could coexist with joy or other emotions was one of the hardest things for us to understand. What we immediately could understand was what kept us going. Our Village continues to get us through the hard days whether it be the support from our family, friends, community, or even complete strangers. This has been the most moving thing we have ever witnessed. We couldn't imagine a better way to keep Zoey's memory alive than by doing exactly what we experienced after our loss. We hope to honor her legacy by showing up for others in their darkest hours, donating to fundraisers within our community and we pray so much more! I hope this is just the beginning of our journey in this chapter. Hakuna Matata
